American car registration number South Korea 1988-2019

In 2019, almost 24 thousand cars from the American brands Chrysler, Ford, and Cadillac were registered in South Korea. The first American cars to be officially imported and sold in Korea were seventeen Fords in 1988. Due to the limited models and higher prices, American cars have been not as popular among Korean consumers as German or Japanese car brands.
