In 2020, the state of Uttar Pradesh in India had the highest number of cyber crimes motivated by anger in comparison to the rest of the country. There were approximately 210 cases registered with the Maharashtra authorities. Overall the country recorded more than 822 cases cyber crimes with anger as motive that year. These crimes came under the purview of numerous sections of the Indian Penal Code under Information Technology Act (Cyber crimes).
