According to a 2023 survey conducted by Rakuten Insight, about 16 percent of Malaysian respondents who did not own a smart speaker stated that they intended to purchase a smart speaker while 34 percent did not know if they will buy one. In the same survey, about 63 percent of the total respondents stated that they did not own a smart speaker.
