Merchandise trade value of Russia with the EU 2007-2021, by flow

Russia exported goods worth over 188 billion U.S. dollars to EU-27 in 2021. The export value exceeded imports from the region by nearly 94.2 billion U.S. dollars. The trade balance increased compared to the previous year. A sharp decline in both export and import trade was recorded between 2014 and 2015.

The trade balance was calculated as exports minus imports.


Figures prior to 2018 were obtained from ITC Trade Map. The ITC calculations were based on the Federal Customs Service of Russia statistics in 2016; on the UN Comtrade statistics until 2016 and in 2017.
