The high level of processing involved in producing plant-based foods was the leading concern among Canadian survey respondents who planned to consume more plant-based products as of December 2019 - some 58 percent of respondents cited concerns about processing levels. The taste was the next biggest worry, with 43 percent stating that they feared the products would not taste as good as meat.
