Coronavirus (COVID-19) in Flanders, Wallonia and Brussels (Belgium) as of August 2020

As of August, 2020, the Belgian authorities revealed that over 74 thousand people have been tested positive for the coronavirus. From a regional perspective, with over 42.4 thousand positive test results, most confirmed cases were reported in Flanders. Wallonia faced the second-highest amount of positive cases with roughly 22 thousand confirmed cases, while the Brussels-Capital Region registered 7.8 thousand positive tests. It is believed that the Coronavirus (COVID-19) has entered Belgium on the 2nd of February 2020, after a Belgian resident returned from the Chinese city of Wuhan.
