Hochtief had the biggest total output of any German construction firm in 2021. At over 21 billion euros, the value of work carried out by Hochtief was higher than that of the next four companies in the ranking combined. When it comes to construction, Germany does not play that big of a role within Europe: construction firms from France and Spain, for instance, dominated a Europe league table based on market cap.
