Latin America: COVID-19 deaths 2021, by country

As of January 13 2021, a total of 535.9 thousand people have died due to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic in Latin America and the Caribbean. The country with the highest number was Brazil, reporting more than 204 thousand deaths. As a result of the pandemic, Brazil's GDP is forecast to decline by approximately six percent in 2020. Meanwhile, Mexico ranked second in number of deaths, with 135.7 thousand occurrences.
