In a survey conducted in 2020, regarding the impact which the coronavirus outbreak had, 77 percent of respondents in Malaysia felt that the outbreak of COVID-19 had a major impact on the national economy. Comparatively, 57 percent of respondents in both Japan, and Indonesia stated that the outbreak of the coronavirus had a major impact on the national economy in 2020.
