Retail sales index of consumer goods in Denmark 2019-2020

The retail sales index of consumer goods in Denmark decreased slightly from January to February 2020. As of February 2020, the index was measured at 111.2, with 2015 as base year. This addresses the period before the major closings in the retail sector due to COVID-19. However, given the COVID-19 outbreak, retail sales are expected to decline significantly from March on (see consumer expectations for March).

The first case of COVID-19 in Denmark was confirmed on February 27, 2020. For further information about the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, please visit our dedicated Facts and Figures page.
