Shipbuilding new orders worldwide 2019-2020
In the first two months of 2020, worldwide new shipbuilding orders amounted to 1.17 million compensated gross tonnage (cgt), down from 4.89 million cgt during the same period of the previous year.
The Chinese shipbuilding industry, where order volume fell drastically over this period, was hit hard by the disruptions related to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.
