Call of Duty is a series of war first person shooter video games. The series was created in 2003 by the studio Infinity Ward and published by Activision. Some of the first games in the series take place during the Second World War, while many of the following releases revolve around more fictional modern conflicts. Call of Duty: Warzone was released to the public in March 2020 as a free-to-play battle royale version of the beloved franchise. Streaming events of the shooter game were watched for a combined total of over 20.7 million hours in September 2023.
