Coronavirus lockdown impact on weekly advertising by TV channel type Spain 2020
Due to the rapid spread of COVID-19 in Spain, the Government to was compelled to declare the state of health alarm on March 14, 2020. The impact of the coronavirus outbreak in Spain was significant in many industries, including advertising. During the week after the lockdown announcement, the weekly time devoted to advertising experienced a general decrease on all television channels, but particularly noticeable in regional television. The advertising volume of FORTA channels in the period from March 16 to 22, 2020 decreased by 30 percent compared to the minutes of commercials registered on this type of channels during the previous week.
