Ford & GM: U.S. ventilator production amid coronavirus pandemic 2020

Once production has been ramped up, Ford and General Motors plan to produce about 40,000 ventilators per month. While the Ford Motor Company has teamed up with GE Healthcare to manufacture these life-saving devices in Michigan, General Motors is collaborating with Washington-based firm Ventec. Amid the coronavirus pandemic, manufacturers have been ordered to produce medical devices and respiratory gear under the Defense Production Act.
