Of all Ahold Delhaize brands in the Benelux, Albert Heijn had the most locations with 1228. Most Albert Heijn stores were located in the Netherlands, and a few in Belgium. Albert Heijn is not only the biggest supermarket chain within Ahold Delhaize, but also in the whole of the Netherlands. Albert Heijn stores had an average sales area of 1,285 square meters per store. In Belgium and Luxemburg, supermarket chain Delhaize was the biggest with 830 stores. Liquor store chain Gall & Gall and drug store chain Etos had 603 and 522 locations, respectively. These smaller brands are only active in the Netherlands.
