With the impact of the coronavirus (Covid-19) pandemic and lockdown measures imposed in many countries in Europe, growth trends in online retail orders have experienced growth in many sectors. As displayed in the chart, after registering a decrease in online orders in the month of January, weekly online retail transactions made in fashion and accessories categories in Italy increased steadily in the following weeks. Online orders in this retail sector recorded an increase of 74 percent in the first week of April, compared to the same period the previous year.
