In 2019, the cumulative installed capacity of the photovoltaics (PV) systems in South Korea stood at 11.8 gigawatts with a steady increase since 1998. Focused on the development of clean energy including PV and wind energy, renewable energy is projected to reach 20 percent of the total energy production by 2030.
