According to a survey conducted in 2019, almost 21 percent of foreign nationals who worked as regular employees in Japan stated that the pace of promotions at their companies turned out to be worse than they had previously expected. Close to one fifth of both regular and part-time employees as well as part-time jobbers were disappointed with the housing and living support they received.
