Hinterland transport delays at ports worldwide by mode of transport 2020
The coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic has caused major disruptions in ports related to hinterland transport. However, as of May 5, 2020, the situation had started to improve. In week 21, one in five ports had reported extra delays related to inland barge services. Three weeks later, the share of ports experiencing this kind of delay had decreased to 3 percent, only to increase again to 9 percent in week 29.
