In 2023, Argentina's biodiesel production was forecast to consume approximately 900,000 metric tons of soybean oil. While this figure represents a large decrease compared to the previous year, the country's consumption of soybean oil for biodiesel production has overall dropped significantly since 2019, due to in part to a drop in diesel consumption brought on by an economic recession and a reduction in the country's blend mandate.
