Weekly deaths in Belgium during the COVID-19 pandemic 2020

With roughly 2,200 fatalities, the highest weekly death toll of 202 0occurred in Flanders during the week covering the 6th to the 12th of April. As the coronavirus pandemic progressed in Belgium, the number of deaths varied weekly and regionally. While not all deaths are due to the coronavirus outbreak, the general number of deaths in Belgium increased from February to April 2020. For instance, the number of deaths in Wallonia rose from 762 casualties in the last week of February, to 1499 deaths in the second week of April.
