A survey on Malaysian online shopping behavior in 2020 found that 90 percent of respondents preferred to shop from e-commerce platforms. Some popular e-commerce sites were Lazada and Shopee. By comparison, 31 percent preferred to shop through social media platforms such as Instagram, while 19 percent preferred to shop directly on the brand's website.
