Monthly containerized imports from Asia to the U.S. 2018-2020
For the first time over the period under observation, U.S. imports from Asian countries excluding China exceeded those from China in the first half of 2020. As a consequence of a lockdown, Chinese exports to the U.S. dropped to roughly two million metric tons in March 2020, showing signs of recovery in the following months.
