India - consumer confidence in future job loss 2020

According to a survey conducted by Ipsos, among Indians regarding losing job in the next six months, the index remained at 18 for March and April 2020. This indicated that Indians do not see a change in the likelihood of losing job as a result of economic conditions in the country.

The survey question was phrased as follows: "Now look ahead at the next six months. How likely is it that you, someone in your family or someone else you know personally will lose their job in the next six months as a result of economic conditions?."
The following question was used to formulate the Ipsos National Index as well as the Current, Expectations, Jobs, and Investment sub-indices.
The Global Consumer Confidence Index is the average of the National Index of 24 world markets surveyed monthly by Ipsos. The findings are based on data from Primary Consumer Sentiment Index (PCSI). The PCSI Index is normalized to a 0 to 100-point range with “50” representing the historical median economic conditions.
