Support for coronavirus tracing app in the UK 2020

In May 2020, a survey carried out in the United Kingdom found that 31 percent of respondents would be very likely to download a smartphone app which would track if a person had come into contact with a coronavirus infected person, while a further 22 percent of respondents would be quite likely to download such an app. On the other hand, 14 percent reported they would be very unlikely to download and use a coronavirus tracing app.

Full question was worded in the source as: "In the coming weeks it may be possible to download a smartphone app that tracks who you have come into contact with. If you then developed the symptoms of Coronavirus, the app could then alert people you had come into contact with that they should self-isolate. Similarly, if someone you came into contact with developed Coronavirus, the app could alert you that you might have been affected. This would also allow the NHS to track the spread of Coronavirus and would involve information about everywhere you had been being stored in a central computer. If this app were available to download, how likely or unlikely would you be to download it and let it run on your smartphone?"
