Monthly air passenger traffic of GOL Linhas Aéreas Inteligentes 2019-2021
In April 2020, the number of air travelers transported by GOL Linhas Aéreas Inteligentes S.A. plunged to only 143 thousand, following the downward trend recorded since January of that year, when the Brazilian airline recorded its highest passenger traffic since 2019. Since May 2020, the monthly number of GOL passengers has increased, surpassing 1.2 million passengers in June 2021. The strong decline in air passenger traffic in 2020 is associated to the COVID-19 pandemic, caused by the novel coronavirus (SARS-CoV-12).
