Share of people receiving benefits in the cultural sector due to COVID-19 Norway 2020

As a consequence of the coronavirus pandemic, the share of people receiving unemployment benefits in the cultural sector in Norway increased. Before the coronavirus outbreak, only three percent of people employed in both the arts and entertainment sector, as well as in libraries, archives, museums, and related industries received benefits. During April 2020, however, more people signed up for receiving unemployment benefits. In detail, the share of people receiving unemployment benefits amounted to 20 percent in the arts and entertainment sector, and ten percent in libraries and related industries on April 29, 2020.
