In 2021, the number of passengers carried by International Airlines Group (IAG) and its subsidiaries amounted to less than 38.9 million passengers. The airline group recorded steady growth over the period under consideration, before experiencing a sharp decline in passenger numbers in 2020 as a result of reduced flight operations owing to the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic.
