Number of overnight stays after the coronavirus outbreak in Sweden 2020

As a consequence of the coronavirus outbreak, the number of overnight stays in Sweden declined between March and May 2020. In detail, around 2.3 million overnight stays were registered in May 2020, which was roughly two million fewer compared to the previous year. In the first two months of 2020, however, the number of overnight stays actually exceeded the numbers registered during the same period of the previous year.

The first case of COVID-19 in Sweden was confirmed on February 4, 2020. For further information about the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, please visit our dedicated Fact and Figures page.
