In a recent survey conducted by Rakuten Insight in the Philippines, 85 percent of female and 81 percent of male respondents bought a large stock of items from supermarkets or hypermarkets during the coronavirus COVID-19 pandemic as of April 2020. In contrast, one percent of the female surveyed respondents bought online or from an e-commerce platform, while three percent of male respondents purchased from a local farmer's market.
