The state of São Paulo is the leading producer of sugar cane in Brazil, and was expected to account for more than half of the national production in crop year 2024/2025, with an output of over 355 million metric tons. Production in the states of Minas Gerais and Goiás were to reach around 83.2 and 75.7 million tons, respectively. That year, sugar cane production in Brazil was forecast to reach nearly 686 million tons.
