Share of commuters travelling every day by car in Italy 2019, by region
In 2019, 69.5 percent of commuters in Italy travelled daily by car. The region recording the highest share of people using the car every day was Umbria, where over 80 percent of people took the car every day. On the contrary, about 48 individuals out of 100 living in Liguria travelled every day by car, the lowest figure in Italy. The share of commuters who used to take public transport at least once a day was roughly 23 percent.
