GEM Partners, three quarters of Japanese moviegoers who watched one to two movies per year did not know about the increase in ticket prices that took place at some of the movie theaters across the country in 2019. Among those who watched more than 12 movies per year, more than 13 percent stated that their visit frequency decreased due to the higher prices.
