Distribution of Instagram influencers in Malaysia in 2020, by follower count
According to a report published by hypeauditor.com, 52.7 percent of influencers were micro influencers with a follower count between 5,000 to 20,000. These influencers had more niche audiences across different sectors from health and fitness to entrepreneurship. In total, there were around 11 million Instagram users in Malaysia as of January 2020.
