Unemployment rate by autonomous community in Spain Q3 2023
The unemployment rate in Spain was highest in the southern regions as of the third quarter of 2023. During the period under consideration, the autonomous city of Ceuta registered Spain's highest unemployment rate at 27.79 percent. Extremadura, a landlocked southern region bordering Portugal, ranked fourth at 16.5 percent. On the other hand, the northern regions, such as the Basque Country or Aragon, had a much lower unemployment rate of less than nine percent.
