Favorability of measures to reduce deadly force encounters involving police U.S. 2020
As of early late May 2020, an overwhelming majority of U.S. adults surveyed - 88 percent - supported training police in how to de-escalate conflicts in order to reduce the number of deadly force encounters involving police in the United States. In the same survey, only 16 percent of respondents supported cutting funding to police departments as a method to achieve the same goal.
