Sweden: work permits granted by profession 2022

In 2022, over 24,000 work permits were granted in Sweden. The professional field with the highest number of work permits granted that year was technicians and associate professionals with over 8,400 permits, closely followed by specialists with 8,300 permits. Around 2,600 permits were granted to professionals. The work permits were granted to non-Swedish and non-EU citizens applying for a job in Sweden from abroad, applying while studying in Sweden, or applying after having received a rejection to an asylum application.
