Monthly visitors of illegal streaming sites in France in 2019
In January 2020, a Paris courtroom handed down an order to leading French Internet Service Providers (ISPs) in order to ban the access to 36 platforms which were believed to offer pirated content. In the six months leading up to the Internet order, the 77 platforms available on all 36 domains attracted a peak average of 12 million unique visitors from the French Market in December 2019.
