Nordics: podcasts listening during COVID-19 2020

Listening to podcasts became more popular during the coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak in the Nordic countries. The share of Norwegians listening to podcasts on a weekly basis increased from 29 percent before the COVID-19 outbreak, to 33 percent during the pandemic.

"The period ‘before COVID-19’ represents the period from September 11, 2019, to March 14, 2020, while the period ‘during COVID-19’ represents the period from March 15, 2020, to May 22, 2020.
This means that changes in media consumption behaviour are not necessarily directly caused by the COVID-19 outbreak. Some changes in media consumption behaviour may be related to underlying trends, e.g. traditional TV viewing decreasing and podcast listening increasing."
