Number of counterfeit products seized by the customs authorities in France 2010-2019

Anti-counterfeiting efforts deployed by customs authorities serve two purposes for countries. On the one hand, it fosters domestic companies' innovative capacity and their development. On the other, it prevents consumers from being duped into buying fake products. In 2019, French customs agents seized 4.8 million counterfeit products, which represents a decrease of 16.7 percent compared to the previous year.
