
Share of stunted children under 5 in Africa 2018, by geographical area
In 2018, 33.6 percent of children aged under five living in East and South Africa were stunted. In Western and Central regions of continent, this share was 33.1 percent. East and South Africa registered the second highest percentage of stunted children worldwide, after South Asia, where 34.4 percent of the children were not growing well from poor nutrition or repeated infections.
