Level of attention towards child sexual assault cases among parents China 2015-2019

According to a survey on child sexual abuse prevention in China conducted in 2019, about 57 percent of the surveyed parents had heard about child sexual abuse cases before. The proportion increased from about 43 percent in 2015. Approximately 28.7 percent of the parents were very concerned about sex crime cases involving children.

The survey was conducted among Chinese parents who:
34.77 percent lived in cities, 32.96 percent lived in rural areas, 32.27 lived in county towns;
10.39 percent had children aged under six years, 79.73 percent had 7-12 year old children, 8.33 percent had 13-15 year old children, 1.55 percent had 16-18 years old children;
22.21 percent fathers, 74.1 percent mothers, 2.09 percent grandparents, 1.61 percent others.
