Anti-counterfeiting efforts are deployed by customs authorities to protect domestic companies. Counterfeit goods are harmful for businesses' economic health and their brand image, especially when it comes to luxury companies. In 2019, the French customs authorities received 1,550 requests from companies to confiscate counterfeit goods.
