Across the United States there are racial disparities in pollution exposure, with Black and Latino Americans far more likely to be exposed to environmental risks than White Americans. Compared to White Americans, Black and Latino Americans are at a far higher risk of proximity to hazardous facilities, such as TSDF's (treatment, storage, and disposal facilities), with Latino's most at risk.
Although Latino Americans have a higher risk of exposure to traffic than Black Americans, they were less exposed to diesel particulate matter, PM.25 exposure, and air toxic cancer risk. However, both were significantly more exposed than the average White American.
