Nearly 78 percent of Russians voted for proposed amendments to the Constitution in a plebiscite from June 25 to July 1, 2020, as stated by the Central Election Committee of the country. In two federal subjects, namely the city of Moscow and the Nizhny Novgorod Oblast, residents could also cast their ballots online. In an online voting, over 40 percent of participants in the Nizhny Novgorod Oblast were against the changes to the document.
