According to the survey on COVID-19 impact on Taiwanese teenagers, about 34 percent of respondents said their schools increased the online courses as a precautionary measure during the coronavirus outbreak. Meanwhile, more than 65 percent of respondents stated the coronavirus situation did not affect their school plans on online courses.

The survey was conducted among:
54.9 percent male and 45.1 percent female;
41.1 percent from elementary schools, 22.9 percent from junior high schools, 36 percent from senior high schools;
40.9 percent lived in northern area, 17.1 percent lived in middle area, 37.7 percent lived in southern area and 4.3 percent from eastern area and islands.
Taiwan currently has a 12-years-based education system. Elementary schools span grades 1 through 6; junior high schools span grades 7 through 9, senior high school and vocational high schools span grades 10 through 12.
