Monthly import value of food and beverages from 2019-2023
The import value of food and beverages to Kenya in August 2023 was measured at some 40.35 billion Kenyan shillings (KSh), roughly 265 million U.S. dollars. The value increased substantially from 26.57 billion Kenyan shillings (around 174 million U.S. dollars) in the previous month. Kenya imports mainly maize, unmilled wheat and wheat flour, rice, and sugar. The majority of the goods come from Uganda, South Africa, European countries, India, and the United States.
