
Main awards assigned to the music composer Ennio Morricone 1965-2020
During his 60 years of musical careers, Ennio Morricone composed about 500 scores for cinema and television, sold roughly 70 million albums and received several prestigious international and national awards. In 2016, the renowned Italian composer won an Academy Award for the original score of The Hateful Eight by Quentin Tarantino. In 2007, he also won a Honorary Academy Award for his significant contributions to the film music sector. Apart from winning three Golden Globes, and six BAFTA Awards, Ennio Morricone also obtained 11 of the so-called Nastro d'Argento (Silver Ribbon), the awards assigned by the Italian National Syndicate of Film Journalists.
