The second round of Brazil's 2018 presidential election took place on October 28 of that year. On the same day, the Superior Electoral Court (TSE, as abbreviated in Portuguese) announced that Jair Messias Bolsonaro was the president-elect. During a survey conducted between October 26 to 29, 2018, almost 84 percent of respondents who said they had voted or would vote for Bolsonaro said they believed that his opponent, Fernando Haddad, had implemented a "gay kit" in public schools when he served as minister of Education – which is not true. Likewise, almost three out of four (74.6 percent of) Bolsonaro voters stated that they thought Haddad wrote a book supporting pedophilia and incest, although this was also fake news.
