POS terminals number in 31 countries in Europe 2023
The number of POS terminals found across the various countries in Europe in 2023 was not the highest in the United Kingdom or Germany. Indeed, the number of POS terminals was highest in France — whilst relatively more common in Southern Europe. This may be attributed to the southern European countries being relatively late in their attempts to replace cash. The high number of POS terminals may help in those efforts.
